1. When is my trash pick up day?

Locate your residence on the map and refer to the legend below to determine which day your trash will be collected.

Please be reminded that your cans should be placed at the curbside the night before to ensure collection. Actual time of pick up will vary.

2. When is the Annual Clean Up?

The annual clean takes place the last Saturday in April and October. 

3. What is the Holiday Trash Pick up Schedule?

HOLIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE

The City of Sanger and Mid Valley Disposal Company observe Holidays throughout the year that will affect your regularly scheduled collection day.

Current Holidays

The holiday schedule has been revised effective January 2016. Mid Valley Disposal has reduced their holiday schedule from 11 days down to only 3.

The following holidays will be observed which will delay your pick up by 1 day:

• New Year's Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

As a general reminder: please ensure that your trash receptacles are placed at the curbside the night before your regular pick up (and for sure by 5 a.m. on your pick up day

4. How do I schedule a Bulky Item Pick Up ?

Please call 559-876-6300, option 1, to schedule a pickup or submit a request online. When submitting a request, please be sure to include the address of the scheduled pickup

5. What are the requirements of a Bulky Item Pick up?

• Must have active utility account
• Each pickup is limited to 3 items.
  • All 6 items can be picked up at once and would be considered your 2 bulky items pickups for the year. 
  • Additional items may be picked up for a fee.
• Items must be able to load with two people. 
• Items must fit on a flatbed truck 
• Items must weigh less than 100 pounds each
• 2 Pick- ups per year

7. How do I Recycle my Christmas Tree?

Dispose of your Christmas Tree beginning in January. Start by removing all decorations, lights, and tree stand then cut into 4 ft. by 4 ft pieces and place in your GREEN waste container (lid must close in order to service).

9. Who can take items to the Annual Clean Up?

CLEAN UP EVENT ONLY FOR RESIDENTS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS

Must provide proof of Residency

(Driver license or City Utility bill, 30 days Current, AT LEAST)

Location: Sanger City Yard- 333 North Ave.

Please bring items separated by material type (metal, wood, & trash, etc.)

Residents must bring items to location and help unload.

LIMIT TWO SMALL TRUCK LOADS OR 1 TRAILER LOAD PER HOUSEHOLD

Large Loads (at our discretion) will be directed to MVD on Elm Ave in Fresno to deposit their load.

10. Where can I take Hazardous Waste?

11. Where can I take Green Waste?

The City of Sanger accepts compost and green waste at the City Corporation Yard. The Corporation Yard is located at 333 North Avenue (east of Academy Avenue - follow the signs).

Fees & Load Size

The cost is $10 per load, i.e, half ton truck bed or trailer under 16 feet. There is no limit on the number of loads, and no appointment is necessary.

Acceptable Materials

Acceptable materials include:

• Grass clippings
• Leaves
• Shrubbery
• Tree branches and pruning

Restrictions

• No stumps will be accepted.
• Roots must be free of dirt.
• We are unable to accept any pruning larger than 4 inches in diameter or longer than 5 feet.
• We are unable to accept any variety of the following (including cuttings):
  • Banana plants
  • Cactus
  • Palm trees
  • Yucca plants

Resident Requirements

This service is available to residents inside the City limits and a current City of Sanger utility bill and identification is required.

Payment Options

Prepayment

You can prepay at City Hall (1700 7th Street) with cash, check or credit card. 

You will receive a voucher per $10 fee prepaid. You must present the voucher to staff at the time of arrival at the Corporation Yard.

Utility Bill

If you do not present a prepaid voucher, a $10 fee per load will be added to your utility bill.

12. What can I do with old paint?

Sanger Paint Supply, Inc, located at 730 N Street is our local drop-off center for used paint. For alternate locations, please visit PaintCare to search other locations near you.

We appreciate your assistance with keeping old paint out of our landfills - please do not dispose of any paint using your trash receptacles.

13. How do I get my Trash Can fixed?

The City of Sanger trash and recycling service is contracted through Mid Valley Disposal who provide our residents sturdy, easy-to-use wheeled containers. On occasion, a wheel or lid may be damaged during use. 

You can submit a request online for a repair or replacement container.
